Marburger races with six-time champion Craig Von Dohren

Grandview Speedway's 2009 point season officially ended on Saturday night. In the end, Todd Marburger and the MFR Enterprises team finished the '09 campaign with a top ten effort in the 30-lap 358 Modified feature.

Following a third place effort in the fourth heat race of the night, Marburger lined up on the outside of the front row for the start of the feature event. The man they call "Hulky" wasted no time nailing the throttle at the start of the race and taking the lead from John Tschudy.

Marburger led the first ten circuits before he relinquished the lead to Troy Wink on lap eleven. Not giving up, Todd drove back around Wink to lead lap number thirteen. Going down the backstretch veteran Meme DeSantis was able to pass the #18 for the lead in turn three.

For the remaining distance Marburger rim-rode the top side of the race track with his Lombardo-powered machine and finished a very respectable seventh at the finish.

"With the kind of year we've had we'll take this," commented Marburger following the race. "I just have to thank those that helped me all year; especially my sponsors. Without them none of this would be possible."

Marburger and the MFR Enterprises team wish to congratulate Jeff Strunk and the Gagliardo Motorsports team on their '09 championship at Grandview.
